Framer Framed

Framer Framed is an interdisciplinary cultural platform in Amsterdam Oost where exhibitions and cultural programs take place at the intersection of contemporary art, visual culture and politics.

Bimhuis

The Bimhuis is a stage on the edge of Amsterdam Oost for musicians who experiment on the border of innovation and tradition. Here, national and international artists are given a platform to push back musical boundaries. For many years Amsterdam Roots and the Bimhuis have been organizing a variety of music programs together: from intimate listening concerts to exuberant dance music with roots in all parts of the world.

Tapastheater

The Tapastheater is a small theater in Amsterdam Oost that is known for its special and intimate theater experience. Every evening three performances of twenty minutes each take place in different rooms. Amsterdam Roots offers young theater makers a special opportunity to present new work.

Oosterpark

For many years, Roots Open Air has been the exuberant closing of the festival with various stages for music, dance, theater, circus and the popular children's program. You can buy the most delicious snacks and drinks at the Roots Bazaar. The part of the park where the festival is not taking place is open to regular park visitors.

Joods Historisch Museum

The Jewish Historical Museum (JHM) is a beautiful and leading museum, housed in four monumental synagogues in the middle of the Jewish Cultural Quarter (JCK). It provides a unique picture of Dutch Jewish life in all its facets, then and now. The entrance to the museum is at Nieuwe Amstelstraat 1, in a covered space between four synagogues restored to their 18th-century state.
