Festival 2021

At the end of June, the Amsterdam Roots Festival will be back, and this time with an audience! We need to take into account the corona measures, but we won't let that spoil the festival program. You can expect a sparkling program with music, circus, dance, theater, children's programs, visual arts, workshops and in-depth programs.

The festival will take place from 30 June to 4 July at venues such as Framer Framed, Bimhuis, Tapas Theater and we will close in the Oosterpark.  This year our program is dedicated to 'Vulnerability’. In 2020, with a sudden jolt it became clear how vulnerable we are. And this while we are all too happy to hide our own vulnerability. What happens when we embrace that vulnerability and share it with each other? In this edition we explore vulnerability as a connecting force and as a language.
