The Palestinian Circus
The Palestinian Circus
The Palestinian Circus travels from Ramallah to Amsterdam, bringing a powerful blend of circus, storytelling, and resilience. As an organization, they are committed to empowering young people through circus and artistic creation — offering a space where expression, imagination, and identity come together.
Rooted in the Palestinian Circus School — founded in 2006 — they are building a new generation of performers while contributing to the development of contemporary circus in Palestine. What began with the iconic performance Circus Behind the Wall has grown into an artistic platform where young people learn to tell their own stories through acrobatics, theatre, dance, and music. The school acts as a creative haven where the body becomes a language, transforming personal and social realities into powerful performances.
At Amsterdam Roots Festival, they present a dynamic and interactive programme filled with acrobatics — including Chinese pole and aerial work — guiding audiences into an impressive world centered on expression, creativity, and connection. An energetic and moving invitation to see Palestine through a different lens — one of strength, creativity, and hope.
