Interwoven women's voices illuminate shared colonial history

Sisterhood is an extraordinary group of 7 talented female artists, centered around singer, spoken word artist and musician Shishani. Sisterhood brings an enchanting show that highlights the shared history between Indonesia and Namibia, specifically the Dutch colonial past. During this performance, female perspectives and forgotten voices take center stage. Shishani immerses the audience in rich stories and art forms from Java, Maluku, Papua and Namibia through music, dance, spoken word and compelling storytelling. In doing so, she creates a "safe space" in which experiences from the colonial past are transformed into new shared stories, connecting African, Asian and European descendants.
