Native Moons

This year, Native Moons presents an energetic dance program focused on freedom, expression, and connection. With performances and dance battles in street and club styles such as popping, waacking, and house dance, they elevate the energy in Oosterpark to a higher level. Together with DJ Lucas Benjamin, percussionist Gianna Tam, and singers like Otion, Sarada Sarita Keilman, Yordana Rodriguez, and Kim Tawjoeram create another magical dance celebration. 

What is the theme this year? Feelings and connectedness. Dancers are challenged to express emotions like love, sadness, joy, and togetherness through bold and unique dance moves. Throughout the evening, culminating in the afterparty with DJ Lucas Benjamin, the Moon stage is a place where dance is the language of emotions, and expression meets in every beat.

Native Moons is a dance collective of Sarada Sarita Keilman, Yordana Rodriguez, and Kim Tawjoeram. Since their first collaboration with Amsterdam Roots Festival in 2018, their program has been centered around "Freedom of Expression through Liberty and Exchange." With a shared passion for music, art, and dance, they hold a clear vision: “When we dance, we are free. And when we are free, we dance.”
