When East and West meet artistically, something truly magical can emerge on stage. Amsterdam Roots & Lalaland Festival present Bolesque, a daring, beautiful, and breathtaking mix of Indian semi-classical dance and Bollywood glamour with the fiery sensuality of Western burlesque. This unique performance, brought to life by Indian drag artist Sandy SalAura, and Amsterdam\u2019s own burlesque queen Eve Fatale, is more than just a show \u2013 it\u2019s a celebration of roots, resilience, and rhythm.<\/span><\/p>\n

India, with its rich heritage of classical forms such as Kathak and Bharatanatyam, is a country where art is the language of both devotion and rebellion. From temple dances to the silver screen, in India, dance and expression form the basis of identity, emotion, stories, and rituals. The Western performance art of Burlesque combines humor, satire, and sensuality in an exuberant show of music, dance, and often striptease.<\/span><\/p>\n
