Virtuoso father and son combine Iranian tradition with improvisation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reza Mirjalali grew up playing the tar, a traditional Iranian stringed instrument, and was a talented musician as a young boy. His father, the famous Shahram Mirjalali, taught him the intricacies of Iranian music. He toured the world with his father at a young age and, as a teenager, won several awards.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2013, Reza made the jump to the Netherlands to study at Codarts Rotterdam Conservatory. Here he further specialized in Radif and Makam, music styles from Iran and Turkey. It is Reza's mission to build a bridge between East and West through music. Today he still plays with his father, with father Shahram representing the rich Iranian musical tradition and Reza challenging himself with improvisation and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n
